michelle warren photographyThe Chef’s Touch is a unique cooking, food and people destination. Created by Chef Kurt and JoEllen Alldredge and located in Santa Barbara’s wine country, The Chef’s Touch is devoted to cooking and the food lovers experience.

The Chef’s Touch offers wine country cuisine, full-service catering, gourmet foods and cooking classes. The Solvang, CA location features an open professional kitchen, patio dining and a knowledgeable, food passionate staff.

Kurt describes it as "passion-based cooking" - food cannot be separated from emotion and story and every dish is a form of expression. A fourth-generation Californian, Kurt brings 32 years of cooking experience to The Chef’s Touch, having reigned in the kitchens of grand hotels and distinguished independent restaurants in both California and Washington state. One of his mentors was Gernot Leitzinger, former chef to the Prince of Austria, with whom he worked side by side at the Old Europe Restaurant in Pacific Grove, but it’s fair to say that Kurt’s grandmother and mother were major influences, too. “Every dish evokes memories, it has history, it has heart. I interpret people in my world through food. I relate through food.”

You’ll find Bistro dining at its best at our Café in Solvang. Daily lunch specials, dinner three nights a week, Sunday brunch – all house-made with the best meats, cheeses, breads and produce. Enjoy a leisurely wine-country meal on our patio or dine inside with views of the open kitchen.

We offer Custom Catering for your special occasion in Santa Barbara County. If you can dream it, we can make it a reality. Create your own menu or choose from our wide variety of gourmet and ethnic dishes.

Our Gourmet Foods are created by Chef Kurt and include a range of pasta sauces, salsas and BBQ sauces.

All Classes are a hands-on experience. We create and then enjoy the meals, complete with complementary wine. Ethnic, Gourmet, Festive, Improvisational, Educational – Fun!
